Disqualifications and Warnings from the FF PAT “Guidelines” Document
CHECK-IN/REPORTING
- Appearing after appointment time*²˒³
- Failing to provide a picture ID (e.g., Driver’s license, City ID, military ID, passport)*³
- Failing to wear closed heel and toe shoes*¹
- Refusal to remove sunglasses/hats/caps/jewelry*¹˒³
- Failing to “attend and complete” at least one (1) PAT walkthrough*³
EVENT #1: STAIR CLIMB SIMULATION (20 Second Warm-Up)
- Stepping/Falling off or Dismounting the stair climb machine**¹
EVENT #1 Cont.: STAIR CLIMB SIMULATION (3 Minute Test)
- Grasping/Holding/Leaning on the railings**¹
- Stepping/Falling off or dismounting*¹
EVENT #2: CHARGED HOSE PULL
- Failing to stand with both feet behind the Starting Line*¹
- Walking backwards*¹
- Dragging the nozzle*¹
- Failing to cross the Finish Line with both feet and nozzle*¹˒²
- Failing to cross the Finish Line between the cones*¹
EVENT #3: FORCIBLE ENTRY AND VENTILATION
- Hooking, Dragging, Pushing, Inappropriate Swing, or losing control of hammer (e.g., flying out of hands)*¹˒²

EVENT #4: FIRE EXTINGUISHING AND RESCUE SIMULATION (cumulative time)
- Failing to stand with both feet behind the Starting Line*¹
- Failing to drag one (1) hose at a time*¹
- Walking backwards while dragging the hose*¹
- Dragging the end coupling*¹
- Failing to cross the Finish Line with both feet and coupling (for each of the two [2] hose lines)*¹˒²
- Failing to place coupling on the ground (for each of the two [2] hose lines)*¹
- Running back to the second section of hose*¹
- Failing to cross the Finish Line between the cones*1,2
- Running to the hose bundle*¹
- Hose Bundle Carry and Multi Story Stair Climb (1st – 4th floors)
***All warnings for multi-story stair climb accumulate from 1st – 6th floors.
- Failing to have one (1) hand on the railing and one (1) hand on the bundle**¹
- Skipping steps while climbing stairs**¹
- Using railing to assist in climbing stairs**²
- Failing to place the bundle in the designated areas (the yellow boxes)*¹
- Allowing both feet to be free of contact with the floor at any time*¹
- Stepping on the rope in an effort to gain an advantage*¹
- Wrapping the rope around hands or any other part of the body*¹˒²
- Hose Bundle Carry and Multi Story Stair Climb (4th – 6th floors)
***all warnings for multi story stairs climb accumulate from 1st – 6th floors.
- Failing to have one (1) hand on the railing and one (1) hand on the bundle**¹
- Skipping steps while climbing stairs**¹
- Using railing to assist in climbing stairs**²
- Failing to place the bundle in the designated areas*¹
- Running to the dummy*¹
- Dragging victim by the head, arms or legs*[1]
- Failing to move the victim with the head of the victim toward the direction of travel**¹
- Failing to cross the Finish Line with victim’s feet*¹

**A maximum of two (2) warnings. A 3rd warning for the same type of infraction/violation will result in disqualification from the PAT.
