After you Submit your Application
Once you are done and submit your application you will receive an email confirmation. This email will confirm you successfully applied with the City of Miami. Once the recruitment is closed and the screening process is complete, you will receive a second notification stating if your application was eligible or ineligible for the position.
Eligibility, Ineligibly & Appeals
If you receive a notification stating you are eligible for a position this means your name is put on a list and given to the hiring department for consideration. It is up to the hiring department to contact applicants directly. This list is valid for one year and up to two based on the needs of the hiring department.
If you receive notification stating you are ineligible, it only applies to the position you applied for. You may apply to any other job opening or apply for this position if it opens again.
If you receive notification stating you are ineligible for a position and feel as if you have all the minimum requirements then you may appeal this determination. To appeal, you may submit an email addressed to the Director of Human Resources HRrecruitment@miamigov.com stating the reason for said appeal. Eligibility Appeals should be submitted as quickly as the applicant receives notification of their ineligible determination, but not later than two weeks after the date of notification. You may contact the Employment Office at 305-416-2170 for any questions on how to submit an email of appeal.
Next Steps
If eligible and selected to interview, you will be contacted by the hiring department directly to schedule that interview.
