Proposed Amendments to Tree Ordinance
On January 14th, a Sunshine Meeting was held to open public discussion about a proposed amendment to the City of Miami Tree Ordinance. The proposal was put forth by Commissioner Gabela of District 1 and the meeting was hosted by Commissioner Pardo of District 2. The new legislation aims to simplify processes for residents and businesses, protect trees during development and construction, align with other jurisdictions standards, allocate resources for tree planting and maintenance, and educate the community. The proposed changes will be discussed at the April 24th City Commission meeting. Future charrettes and/or public meetings may be scheduled, check this page for updates.
