Federal regulations governing CDBG, and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs. In addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the city program(s) as indicated below: * †
1. Discuss and proposed resolution approving a change in the proposed project, on the city-owned parcel of land located at 6016 Northwest 7th Avenue, Miami, Florida, from redevelopment of the parcel for housing to a public park, and authorizing the City Manager to submit a Substantial Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2022 Action Plan and Fiscal Year 2019-2023 Consolidated Plan to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”); authorizing the allocation of an additional One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) in Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) program income funds to the project.
* The adoption of an Ordinance or Resolution by the City Commission, related to the proposed funding recommendation(s)/ amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft/amend the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan.
† † This item(s) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begin on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, and ends on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. The proposed amendment(s) will be presented to the City Commission for approval on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Draft copies of the agenda items will be available at the City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development office located at 14 NE 1 Avenue, 2 Floor, Miami, FL 33132 (HCD Address). Comments to amendment(s) must be submitted to: nancyromani@miamigov.com, Attn: Nancy Romani, and must be received no later than May 23, 2023. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing. The meeting site is accessible to the handicapped.
