Federal regulations governing CDBG, and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs. The City of Miami will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 9:00 am at City Commission Chambers, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL 33133, to provide the public with an opportunity to comment on new funding(s)/ amendments(s) affecting the City’s Annual Action Plan. In addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the city program(s) as indicated below: * ††

8. Discuss and proposed resolution allocating an additional $952,000.00 in American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (“ARPA”) funds from Department of Housing and Community Development for new construction homeownership.

9. Discuss and proposed resolution authorizing the establishment of the Infill First-Time Homebuyer Expanded program with funds allocated from American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”) and City of Miami Forever Bonds (“MFB”). 

10. Discuss and proposed resolution authorizing the transfer of Emergency Rental Assistance 2 (“ERA2”) funds in the amount of $76,711.26 to the City of Miami Department of Human Services to cover costs of hotel/motel accommodations for individuals and families experience homelessness.

 

* The adoption of a Resolution/Ordinance by City Commission, related to the proposed new allocation(s)/ amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft, amend, and submit the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan and or Substantial Amendment(s) whenever applicable.

†† The items in this advertisement will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begins on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, and ends on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The proposed new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) will be presented to the City Commission for approval on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Draft copies of the agenda items will be available at City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development at 14 NE 1 Avenue, 2nd Floor, Miami, FL 33132. Comments to new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) must be submitted to rtazoe@miamigov.com, Attn.: Roberto Tazoe and must be received no later than July 10, 2024.
