Federal regulations governing CDBG, and other HUD programs require that a participating jurisdiction provide citizens with reasonable notice of and an opportunity to comment on any new allocation and/ or amendment of HUD programs. In addition, the public is advised of the new allocation(s)/ amendment(s) to the funding of the city program(s) as indicated below: *

  1. Discuss and propose resolution authorizing the acceptance of State Housing Initiatives Partnership (“SHIP”) funds, in the amount of $2,247,367.00 for Fiscal Year 2024-2025, for the strategies under the current SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan (“LHAP”).

     

  2. Discuss and propose the transfer of CDBG funds in the total amount of $300,000.00 from FY 2023-2024 in      the Economic Development category to the Department of Parks and Recreation to be used for additional improvements for Simon Bolivar Park in District 3. 

* The adoption of an Ordinance or Resolution by the City Commission, related to the proposed funding recommendation(s)/ amendment(s), authorizes the City Manager to draft/amend the appropriate City of Miami Action Plan.

† † This item(s) will be available for public comment and review for a period of no less than 30 days. The review and comment period begins on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, and ends on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The proposed amendment(s) will be presented to the City Commission for approval on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Draft copies of the agenda items will be available at the City of Miami Department of Housing and Community Development office located at 14 NE 1 Avenue, 2 Floor, Miami, FL 33132 (HCD Address). Comments to amendment(s) must be submitted to: nancyromani@miamigov.com, Attn: Nancy Romani, and must be received no later than September 11, 2024. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend this Public Hearing. The meeting site is accessible to people with disabilities.
