Roadway Improvements and Traffic Calming on Charles Avenue

This project consists of two phases

Phase I:

Phase I is currently under construction and near completion.  It was designed to provide immediate traffic calming in the area.  It includes three interim speed humps on Charles Avenue, located in the three areas below.   As of July 2024, the remaining work includes, but it is not limited to, sidewalks and pavement markings.  Expected completion date for phase I is August 2024.

Phase II:

Currently in design.  It includes a joint agreement (JPA) with WASD for a new water main and full roadway renovation, including replacement of the three temporary speed humps from phase I to permanent traffic calming devices.  More information to come as the design moves forward in future months.
