Jose Montoya, Assistant Director Office of Capital Improvements
Jose I. Montoya is a Registered Architect with more than twenty-five (25) years of experience in planning, design, and execution of several commercial and residential projects. Over the last eighteen (18) years, he served as an architect and Project Manager for Miami-Dade County, delivering multiple projects to the county ranging from USD $50,000 up to $23 million. During his tenure at Miami-Dade County, Montoya made significant contributions to notable projects in the county, including but not limited to: Port of Miami’s new terminals and infrastructure, Public Libraries, Emergency Operation Centers, Courtrooms, Hearing rooms, Affordable Housing Residential Buildings and Multi-floor Precast Garages.
As a resident of Miami, Montoya knows first-hand the potential for improvement in the city, which, along with his experience and professional background, gives him the tools to effectively lead his team to successfully complete current and future projects for Miami residents. “I’m thrilled to be part of the Office of Capital Improvements for the City of Miami. Montoya is a Registered Architect by the Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design and holds LEED AP and NCARB certifications as well.
