Nicholas Basco

Mr. Basco rejoined the Office of the City Attorney in September of 2024, previously serving from 2014-2016. He is assigned to the Litigation and Appeals Division handling complex civil litigation including commercial, civil rights, tort, taxation, intergovernmental and class action claims. Before rejoining the Office of the City Attorney, Mr. Basco was in a statewide private practice managing cases on behalf of plaintiffs in State and Federal Courts and has prior experience as insurance defense counsel throughout Florida, also in State and Federal Courts. Mr. Basco began the first seven years of his career in Miami as an Assistant State Attorney handling homicide, robbery and sexual assault cases. He also serves as the Chair of the Florida Bar’s Code & Rules of Evidence Fast Track Subcommittee and is a former chair of a 17th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.
