Project Number: 40-B233606

Project Scope:

Design and construction of stormwater infrastructure and associated roadway improvements including new and upsized stormwater inlets and pipes, exfiltration trenches, roadway reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, sidewalks, ADA ramps, curbs and gutters, signage and pavement markings. This project also includes a requested Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) for water main system betterments.

The project will help alleviate localized flooding experienced by the community.

  • Number of properties impacted: Total = 650 (549 Residential and 101 Non-Residential)
  • Total property value protected: $400M

The project limits are bounded by Latin Quarter: SW 16 Ave between SW 6 St and SW 8 St. Shenandoah North: SW 9 St between SW 17 Ave and SW 10 St Rd. SW 10 St between SW 17 Ave and SW 10 St Rd. SW 18 Ave between SW 8 St and SW 10 St. SW 19 Ave between SW 5 St and SW 8 St. SW 20 Ave between SW 9 St and SW 12 St. Citrus Grove: SW 5 St between SW 17 Ave and SW 22 Ave. SW 6 St between SW 17 Ave and SW 21 Ave. SW 19 Ave between SW 8 St and SW 11 Ter. SW 21 Ave between SW 6 St and SW 8 St. SW 18 Ave between SW 6 St and SW 8 St.

Road Closures:

Some road closures will occur during construction but will be sequenced appropriately to minimize disruption to the residents.

Estimated Construction Timeline:

  • Estimated Construction Start: March 2027
  • Estimated Construction End: Winter 2029
