NOTICE OF REFERENDUM SPECIAL ELECTION
TO AMEND THE MIAMI CITY CHARTER
TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024
IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDAPURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. R-24-0283
A Referendum Special Election will be held on November 5, 2024 from 7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the City of Miami, Florida at the polling places in the several Referendum Special Election precincts designated by the Supervisor of Elections for Miami-Dade County, Florida as set forth herein unless otherwise provided by law for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Miami, Florida, the following question:
“Shall Section 4 of the City Charter be amended to require continuous residency in the district in effect at the time of qualifying for a minimum of one year immediately preceding qualifying for candidates running for City Commissioner and require continuous residency in the City of Miami for a minimum of one year immediately preceding qualifying for candidates running for Mayor?”
This Charter Amendment will amend Section 4 of the City Charter to require continuous residency in the district in effect at the time of qualifying for a minimum of one year immediately preceding qualifying for candidates running for City Commissioner and require continuous residency in the City of Miami for a minimum of one year immediately preceding qualifying for candidates running for Mayor.

DE ENMIENDA A LA CARTA CONSTITUCIONAL DE LA CIUDAD DE MIAMI
QUE TENDRÁN LUGAR EL MARTES 5 DE NOVIEMBRE DEL 2024
EN LA CIUDAD DE MIAMI, FLORIDA
CONFORME A LA RESOLUCIÓN NÚM. R-24-0283
Por el presente aviso se comunica que el 5 de noviembre del 2024, de 7:00 a. m. a 7:00 p. m., tendrán lugar unas Elecciones Especiales para Referendo en la Ciudad de Miami, Florida, en los centros de votación de varios recintos electorales designados por la Supervisora de Elecciones del Condado de Miami-Dade, Florida, como aquí se establece, a menos que la ley disponga otra cosa, en las que se presentará a los electores cualificados de la Ciudad de Miami, Florida, la siguiente pregunta:
“¿Deberá enmendarse la Sección 4 de la Carta Constitucional de la Ciudad con el fin de exigir que los candidatos que se postulen para comisionados de la Ciudad hayan residido de manera continua en el distrito en el momento de su cualificación durante al menos un año inmediatamente anterior a ese proceso y exigir que los candidatos que se postulen para alcalde hayan residido de manera continua en la Ciudad de Miami durante al menos un año inmediatamente anterior a la cualificación?”
Esta enmienda a la Carta Constitucional modificará la Sección 4 de la Carta Constitucional de la Ciudad para exigir que los candidatos que se postulen para comisionados de la Ciudad residan de manera continua en el distrito en cuestión en el momento de su cualificación durante al menos un año inmediatamente anterior a la cualificación de candidatos y exigir que los candidatos que se postulen para alcalde hayan residido de manera continua en la Ciudad de Miami durante al menos un año inmediatamente anterior a la cualificación.
