Register as a Public Works Contractor

Are you a contractor planning to do work in The City of Miami's public right-of-way? To work on the City’s right-of-way, contractors must be registered & approved with the Department of Resilience and Public Works through the electronic permitting system called iPW.

NOTE: The City of Miami Resilience and Public Works Department does not have jurisdiction over Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Miami Dade County (MDC) right-of-way; therefore, any work on these jurisdictions must be permitted directly with them.

Steps

Gather the Necessary Documents

To complete account registration, you will need the following documents and information:

  1. Company Information
    1. Company Name, Company Address, Company Phone Number
    2. Representative Information (Name, Title, Email Address, Phone Number)
    3. User Account Administrator
    4. Authorized User(s)-Person(s) able to apply for permit
  2. Business Tax Receipt # (MIAMI DADE COUNTY TAX RECEIPT)
  3. Employee Identification Number (EIN)#
  4. State License (Contractor License)
  5. Certificate of Insurance
    1. Liability Insurance
    2. Worker's Compensation
      1. Exemption Waiver (if applicable)
    3. Business Automobile
  6. Qualifiers
    1. Name, Address, Email, Phone Number
    2. Specialty License

Submit Documents Via Email

Submit a copy of the above documents to the City of Miami Department of Resilience and Public Works via email at Publicworks@miamigov.com.

Await Approval & Activate your iPW Account

  1. The Department of Resilience and Public Works will review your documents and information. The registration request may take a few days to process.
  2. Once approved, you will receive a link via email to activate your iPW account.
