Submit a Tree Protection Bond for Permitting

Do you need to submit a bond as part of your permitting requirements?  These legal documents serve as an agreement between you and The City to ensure your construction follows City code as it is applicable to all divisions.

Follow the steps below to obtain and submit the bond.

 

Steps

Identify Correct Bond Template

You will need to use the respective template required for approval.  See dropdown below entitled "Bond Templates" to find the correct document.

Contact Surety Company

Contact a certified surety company that works with the state of Florida and provide them with the bond template pertaining to your permit. They will need to complete the template and get it signed, sealed, and notarized. 

Submit Form

The completed original bond document is to be submitted by mail or in person to the 444 SW 2 AV Miami, FL 33130 (4th floor). If mailing the document, please ensure that it states, "Building Department/ Environmental Resources". We will not accept incomplete bonds. 

Review

  • Once bond is reviewed and accepted, the reviewer of your permit application will be notified accordingly.
  • If your bond submission is not approved, you will be notified by email and will need to resubmit the bond with the proper revisions.
