Tree Planting Initiatives & Urban Forest Community Workshops

The City's Tree Planting Community Engagement Workshops are part of the our urban forestry and tree planting efforts. The purpose is to help residents better understand the work planned in their neighborhoods, the value of trees in the public right-of-way, and how proper tree care helps support a healthier and more resilient community.

The workshops will also provide information about green workforce training opportunities, community stewardship, and ways residents can stay involved in future urban forestry efforts.

 

The workshop lasts approximately two hours. During this time, participants will learn about:

  • Upcoming tree planting and urban forestry activities
  • The benefits of trees and increased tree canopy
  • Basic tree care and maintenance practices
  • How residents can help support and protect the urban forest
  • Future volunteer, training, and green workforce opportunities

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, October 13, 2026
